Why Your Bathroom Needs More Than Just a Heater
Most people think of those infrared lamps in the bathroom as just a way to keep from shivering while you get dressed. But we looked at them differently. We wanted to build something that does more than just make you feel warm—we wanted to kill the dampness that ruins bathrooms.
How it actually works
Standard heaters just warm up the air. That’s a slow process, and honestly? It often leaves your walls feeling clammy. Our infrared lamps take a different route. They send out short-wave radiation that goes straight through the surface moisture. It basically shakes the water molecules until they turn into vapor. Instead of waiting for the air to dry your tiles and grout, the lamps just strip the moisture right off the walls. You aren’t just warming yourself up. You’re drying out the entire room.
Keeping things healthy
Mold loves those dead, damp corners where the air just sits still. The great thing about infrared is that it doesn’t need a breeze to work. It hits the surface directly. By keeping your walls warm enough that condensation can’t form, you’re taking away the one thing mold needs to survive. It’s a way to keep your bathroom bone-dry without having to listen to a loud, rattling exhaust fan all morning.
Getting the setup right
Now, there is a catch. These lamps put out a lot of heat in a small area. If you hang them too low or put a high-wattage lamp in a tiny stall, it’s going to feel like a sauna in there. You’ve got to get the mounting height and the timers just right so it feels comfortable, not stifling. The smartest way to do it? Hook them up to a humidity sensor. That way, the lamps only kick in when the room actually needs it. It saves your bulbs from burning out and keeps your electricity bill from spiking, all while making sure you never walk into a damp bathroom again.
